Euro 2024 action continued Monday with Portugal battling Slovenia in the round of 16 at Frankfurt Arena in Germany. Cristiano Ronaldo had a tough day. Missing a penalty kick that was saved by Slovenia's Jan Oblak in extra time. Ronaldo was emotional and crying after the save, but got redemption in Portugal's first try of the penalty shootout, setting the tone for a quick 3-0 victory to advance to the quarterfinals with help from goalkeeper Diogo Costa.
Ronaldo's Portugal will now face Kylian Mbappe's France in the quarterfinals.

Diogo Costa started things off right off right for Portugal, keeping the momentum going from his incredible save during extra time. He dove to the right to make the save and give his squad the advantage. Cristiano Ronaldo followed with a big redemption penalty goal, beating Jan Oblak this time to put Portugal up 1-0. Costa again stopped Slovenia in its second attempt, guessing right by diving left to thwart the attempt. Portugal won the match for Diogo Costa.
